The Guest Suite

The size of this unit makes it ineligible for rating as self-catering accommodation by the criteria used by The Quality Assurance Scheme. However, the standard is acknowledged as being the same as the other two units at Moor Royd House when let in conjunction with either of them.

“The Guest Suite” was developed to give more flexibility to the accommodation available at Moor Royd House. It can be booked in conjunction with either of the other units, to provide additional sleeping space, or when visitors wish to be joined by others for a shorter period than their own stay. Alternatively, it can be hired independently by anyone who requires accommodation only for him/herself and does not plan to entertain, as the catering facilities are only suitable for a maximum of two.

Self-contained, “The Guest Suite” has the advantage of views both over the paddock, as in “The Other Side” and into the walled garden, as in “The Old Farmhouse”. It is in similar style to “The Other Side”, being in the same building; it has its own access, but can be entered from “The Other Side” when the two are booked together, making a unit for four with the advantage of two shower rooms.

The entrance is off the terrace, through a small lobby which has been made into a kitchenette. A ’fridge with freezer compartment, a combination oven and microwave, a hot plate, kettle and toaster and a small sink, together with cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery make casual catering very easy.

The bedroom has a “Visitor Bed” which can be made up either as a single or twin beds. Electric blankets and duvets are provided. There is colour television and radio, dressing table and storage space, chairs and bedside tables with lamps. Hanging space for clothes is provided in the lobby between bedroom and bathroom.

The bathroom is well equipped with a washbasin, shower tub and shower over, vanity unit, electric shaver point and W.C.
