The Other Side

Converted from a barn into a luxurious self-catering unit, “The Other Side” provides accommodation for one or two people in a studio-style apartment on two floors.

The entrance is from the courtyard where there is parking space, into the well appointed kitchen. Beyond the kitchen is a hall area, off which is the shower room, and from which an open staircase leads to the large studio (21 ft. x 14 ft.). Covered hanging space for clothes is provided in the hall.

The fitted kitchen is all electric; a combination oven and microwave, a built-in two ring hot plate, an electric multi-cooker (frying pan), kettle, coffee machine and toaster, make self-catering very easy. There is a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a comprehensive supply of crockery, cutlery, glass and kitchen utensils. A folding table and chairs can be used for meals in the kitchen, or outdoors.

The shower room contains a sauna, washbasin, w.c., power shower and shaver point. The sauna is available through a coin in the slot meter, a 50 pence piece (old one–available from the house) buys enough power for at least two sessions. It is suggested that visitors who intend to use this facility should bring their own towelling robes.

The studio has shuttered windows which open to magnificent views of Pennine Yorkshire, and contains twin divan beds, two easy chairs, a dining table and four chairs, plenty of cupboard and drawer space. There is a colour tele-video and radio/cassette player, some books and games to help visitors spend their relaxing time. Electric blankets and duvets are provided.
